EU's "Renewed Blooms" Garden wins triple gold at Bord Bia Bloom 2025

The garden also won best in category awards for ‘Most Sustainable Garden' and 'Best Medium Garden".

The “Renewed Blooms” garden is designed by David Negus and sponsored by the European Commission in partnership with the Rediscovery Centre, Ireland’s National Centre for the Circular Economy.  It marks the start of European Commission’s “Go Circular” information campaign in Ireland aiming to encourage Irish people to reduce waste and reuse more resources. 

This garden is the gateway to explaining the circular economy, blending reclaimed design with nature, old radiators, used wood and cork, tiles and metal are all given centre stage. This was all done to get the conversation flowing about the circular economy and making reusing part of our everyday lives. 

David Negus, the "Renewed Blooms" designer, said: 

 "Essentially, I’m just really delighted that the everyone seems to love the garden. With each detail I point out, people seem to love the concept and understand the circular economy principles."

Peter Power, Head of the European Commission Representation in Ireland, said: 

"This award sends a powerful message : sustainability can be beautiful. When sustainability wins the environment wins - we all win. Imagination and creativity combined with a commitment to bring new life to old or used materials delivers gold!"
